Multi-stage Action Plan for Happiness

The attitudes, knowledge and skills that we have accumulated so for have to be
combined  together to achieve our main objective
: share that supreme wealth
called Happiness.

This  plan, given herein, is only an outline, and should be used only with
modifications to suit your specific life style  and preferences. To be successful, you
should devote more time to formulate a plan to suit your individual needs. Two
important assumptions are made as prerequisites.

Assumption 1. You have already harmonized your life styles, or mind/body
relationships with your expenditure patterns to fit your income flows.

Assumption 2: You are taking sufficient care to stay healthy and strong. All
decisions you take regarding your health are logical and practical.

The Plan
@ Level Zero:
Your health is of utmost importance, if you wish to increase your levels of
happiness. If necessary, change your life style to help you reduce your levels of
cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and living expenditure. These are the most
embarrassing symptoms you will always encounter when you are planning to get into
higher echelons of happiness.

You should establish boundaries as regards all your activities,  such as food,
clothing, entertainment, sex and alcoholic beverages. Sample resolution 1: I will
reduce my intake of alcohol by 50% during the next month, or to zero during the
next two months.

@ Level One: Reduce all  causes  of unhappiness.
Solve the day-to-day basic problems, such as

  • Food and drinks
  • Clothing
  • Housing
  • Sickness and medical facilities and
  • Transport      in accordance with your ability or within your financial frame.

@ Level Two: Acquire the basic knowledge, mental skills and attitudes necessary to sail
your life boat with ease. It is necessary to look at some important aspects such as:

Self Evaluation: It is necessary to take a serious look at your own life or inside your
own self. Only a minute percentage of the  required knowledge about you, is
published or available with your mother or father. The balance, you will have to
acquire by your own analysis and thinking. The analysis should include the following:

  • Your philosophy of life. If you have so far not had time to think of it, do it today.
  • The Mind Skills that you have so far acquired  and  mastered.
  • Your value structure. It is necessary for you to concentrate on the structure of
your basic values. Such as "I will not cross the legal boundaries in any of my
    dealings or activities."
  • Harmonize your mind/body relationships and  values that should be the
    basis of your life.
  • Your body and its limitations.
  • Your emotions
  • Your relationships with the family and   friends
  • Your  assets
  • Your experiences
  • Your aspirations
  • Working Environment
  • Living Environment
  • Future Plans
  • Others such as the castles you are dreaming  of  building.

@ Level Three: Reduce personal enmities and all embarrassing relationships.

Forget and forgive all those with whom you have been having differences
and fights. This could be a mental exercise and there is no necessity to
make it public

Understand and resolve family relation ships. Every member of your family
need the respect that they deserve. Without their support you can never be
happy. You have to live in a happy environment if you wish your life to be
happy.

  • Make friends with enemies
  • Other problems—sort out imaginary  problems from real ones.
  • Evaluate your attitudes in the light of your new knowledge.
  • Make new friends, at least one every week or month
  • Move away from unfriendly environments if you cannot adjust to live
    comfortably in that environment.
  • Create a friendly environment for you to   work and live.

& Level Four: Kill  the enemies of happiness from within. They are

  • Ignorance
  • Jealousy
  • Anger and hatred
  • Fear
  • Impatience
  • Laziness
  • Suspicion and
  • Greed
  • Excessive desire to satisfy 5-sense oriented cravings.
  • Excessive Indulgence in pleasure seeking activities
  • Sickness in the family

@ Level Five: Proceed with investments to make others happy

  • With Family, make small inroads into their private lives, if you have so far
not done it to make them feel  happy by  investing more  time with them.
  • Working  environment is an ideal place to make investments to make others
    happy.
  • The environment in which you live and move about has to be exploited in
    seeking new investment opportunities.

@ Level Six: Projects
  • Prepare daily/weekly time schedules
  • Time to plan your daily life/future
  • Time for family and friends
  • Time for recreation and exercises
  • Time for meditation
  • Time for economic or professional  activities
  • Identify projects where you can optimise your happiness.
  • Allocate sufficient time to evaluate the working of your plan
    and to make mid-term corrections

The plan given above is only a guide line and should be altered to suit the
individual needs of individuals.
